Executive Vice President, Head of Global Business Operations



Enda Murphy is Executive Vice President (EVP), Head of Global Business Operations and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the EMEA region. Previously, Enda was COO of International Operations and Markets.

With more than 30 years of experience, Enda has an extensive background in life insurance. Before assuming his current responsibilities, Enda held several increasingly senior positions at RGA, including Chief Financial Officer for the International Division and Global Mortality Markets, and Managing Director of RGA UK and Continental Europe. Prior to joining RGA in 2007, Enda was with Canada Life Assurance Company for 19 years, where he established and served as Managing Director of its reinsurance operation in Ireland and was also a member of the Board of Directors for Canada Life Europe. 

Enda received his Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS.) degree from Trinity College, Dublin. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA), and was formerly a Director of the Dublin International Insurance & Management Association.

Patricia Kavanagh is Managing Director of RGA International Reinsurance Company dac, a wholly owned subsidiary of RGA Americas Reinsurance Company Ltd., supporting clients located in Ireland, the U.K., Continental Europe (including Eastern Europe and Scandinavia), the Commonwealth of Independent States, India, and Singapore.  In this role, Patricia is responsible for the oversight and management of business written by RGA International Re through its branch operations.

Prior to joining RGA in 2008, Patricia had extensive experience in both the assurance and reinsurance industries and held many senior financial roles. She spent more than 17 years with the Great West Life Group serving in many key roles, including Investment Controller for its Ireland-based Canada Life Investment company and Chief Financial Officer for its Ireland-based reinsurance companies (Canada Life International Reinsurance and London Life and General Reinsurance Company Limited).

Patricia is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and a past Director and Treasurer for the Dublin International Insurance & Management Association, the industry representative body for international insurance and reinsurance companies and captives established in Ireland.

As Head of Finance for RGA International Reinsurance Company dac, Karl Cheese is responsible for the financial management of operations in the U.K., Continental Europe, India and Southeast Asia. He is based in Ireland. RGA International Reinsurance Company dac is a wholly owned subsidiary of RGA Americas Reinsurance Company Ltd.

Karl has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales for 20 years. He has more than 15 years’ post-qualified experience in the assurance/(re)insurance sector. Prior to joining RGA, Karl spent nine years with CUNA Mutual Group, as the European CFO and Compliance Officer, establishing it’s European Operations for both life and non-life (re) insurance. Karl also served as Head of Finance for HSBC Life Europe Limited, and most recently as the Finance Director of U.K. General Insurance in Ireland.

Karl is a Director and Treasurer of the Dublin International Insurance & Management Association (DIMA), the industry representative body for international insurance, reinsurance and captives established in Ireland.

Mary O’Shea is General Manager and Compliance Officer of RGA International Reinsurance Company dac. In this role, Mary's responsibilities include the oversight and management of business written by RGA International Re through its branch operations as well as ensuring that the Company meets all internal and external compliance and corporate governance requirements.

Prior to joining RGA in 2016, Mary had extensive experience in several senior financial management roles in the Life assurance industry. She spent 15 years with Aviva Ireland serving in many key positions, including Head of Financial Reporting and Solvency II Pillar 3 Ireland Lead. Mary was also Head of Finance for three and a half years in Generali PanEurope immediately prior to joining RGA.

Mary is a graduate of Commerce from University College Cork and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, having trained with PWC.

As Chief Risk Officer for RGA International Reinsurance Company dac, Jason Wiebe is responsible for RGA’s risk management operations within the company. Jason is also SVP, Chief Pricing Actuary, EMEA, where his responsibilities include the oversight of all pricing in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Jason is based in Dublin.
 
Jason has been with RGA since 2008, when he joined as Vice President, and Regional Actuary, U.K. and South Africa. At that time his responsibilities included the oversight of the pricing operations in these two offices. 
 
Prior to joining RGA, Jason worked for RBC Insurance, the insurance subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada. There, he had a wide variety of responsibilities, including: product and pricing oversight; pricing and appointed actuary responsibilities for Canada’s largest travel insurance provider; and asset-liability management. He was also the lead actuarial resource for three successful acquisitions undertaken by RBC.
 
Jason received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland (FSAI), a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA).  He has also served in various volunteer roles with the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, most recently serving as the Chair of its Committee on Risk Management and Capital Requirements.

Garth Lane is Head of Actuarial Function for RGA International Reinsurance Company dac. In this role, Garth is responsible for the oversight and management of the actuarial function within the company. He is based in the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining RGA in 2003, Garth held many senior actuarial roles. He has extensive insurance experience, having spent more than 30 years in the life and life reinsurance Industry.

Garth is a Qualified Actuary and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSIA) in Ireland.
