Arkadiusz Bandosz, Managing Director, is responsible for overseeing operations in Italy and Turkey. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry.

Prior to his current role, Arkadiusz served for three years as Managing Director of RGA International Reinsurance Company dac Poland Branch, serving clients in Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Russia). Previously he served as Director, Business Development for RGA International, where he was responsible for a wide range of functions, from pricing and product development to assisting with general business development in various regions. Arkadiusz was actively involved in RGA’s expansion into the Italian insurance market as well as the Netherlands, Poland and other selected Central and Eastern European countries.

Before joining RGA, Arkadiusz worked for various insurance operations in Canada, including CIBC Insurance Services Division, The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company and Crown Life Insurance Company.

Arkadiusz is a graduate of Gregorianum University in Rome and the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is fluent in Italian, as well as Polish and English.

Roberto Rizzo, Head of Life Business Development, leads business development efforts for RGA International Reinsurance Company dac Branch Office for Italy. He is responsible for developing RGA’s entry strategies into new markets and for executing the initial phases of those strategies, which includes start-up activities such as market research, establishing RGA’s brand, and building local infrastructures.

Roberto’s professional experience includes working as a Senior Actuary in the Health Division for Munich Re Italia. He also worked for HSBC Insurance Brokers in the Milan Representative Office as a Senior Account Executive and in the London office as an Account Executive.

His degree in political economics is from the Università Commerciale L. Bocconi, in Milan. Currently, he is working toward his actuarial fellowship at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Davide Baldan, Director, Business Development for RGA International Reinsurance Company dac Branch Office for Italy, is in charge of defining strategies, planning commercial initiatives and leading the growth and the business development of RGA, including the consolidation of RGA's brand awareness in the market.
 
Davide has several years of experience in the insurance industry. Before joining RGA in July 2012, he was working with Marsh & McLennan Companies, where he moved after starting his career in Generali Group.
 
Davide received a law degree in economic address from the Università degli Studi of Padova, and he was qualified as a lawyer with honours by the Italian Bar Association. He also obtained his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the SDA Bocconi, the Business School of the Universita’ Bocconi in Milan.

Gabrielle Wood is Chief Underwriter for RGA International Reinsurance Company dac Branch Office for Italy. Gabrielle develops facultative business and coordinates and provides underwriting services for life, critical illness and total permanent disability insurance, including risk assessment and client training.

Prior to joining RGA in 2006, Gabrielle was the Chief Underwriter for Italy for Swiss Re. She was also a senior life underwriter for the Italian market for Mercantile & General Reinsurance Company. She has 18 years of underwriting experience and 12 years of claims experience.

Gabrielle received a degree in translation interpreting from the College for Interpreting and Translating, Milan, and speaks fluent Italian, English, French, and German. She is a member of AIMAV (Associazione Italiana di Medicina Dell’Assicurazione Vita), the Italian Medical Underwriting Association, and is a founding member of The European Life and Health Underwriters’ Association (ELHUA).

Silvana Surlas is Head of Health for RGA International Reinsurance Company dac Branch Office for Italy (RGA Italy). She launched, and is responsible for leading, the development of RGA Italy’s health insurance business. 

Prior to joining RGA Italy in May 2011, Silvana was with the Munich Re Group for 13 years. Most recently, she headed its local health business unit, where she was responsible for strategic management and planning, the supervision of pricing and underwriting, and for monitoring its performance. Before then, she led product development for MR Salute Milan, Munich Re’s former Italy-based health underwriting unit. Silvana also worked for Munich Re’s Europäische Reiseversicherung travel insurance unit, serving as country manager for ERV’s subsidiaries and branches in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic. 

Silvana earned her business administration degree from Fachhochschule für Ökonomie und Management, in Munich, Germany, and her Master of Arts in philology from Lucian Blaga University, in Sibiu, Romania. She is a frequent speaker at industry events.
